THE TSF MISSION: PHASE ONE, PHASE TWO & PHASE THREE
Understanding who we are, as cultivators, will help you understand the mission of TSF.
The word cultivate means to prepare, nurture, and help something grow. While it mainly refers to soil and crops, it can also be understood in a spiritual sense - like cultivating relationships and cultivating spaces in which relationships can thrive.
WE ARE EXPANDING

PHASE ONE: Our mission began cultivating a plot of land in Scottsdale Suburbia - raw, weed choked land that we worked hard to transform into a beautiful, flourishing farm/gardens - where hospitality, growing things, workshops and gathering around the table took root. Read about our beginnings here.
EXPANDING THE MISSION - RESTORING THE SOUL
As part of Phase Two, we are expanding our Sabbath Table Gatherings and developing The Loft - a spiritual renewal retreat.
PHASE TWO: While on sabbatical, we’ve enjoyed rest, time with family, and life between farms. We’ve made our temporary home a place of hospitality—like our first farm, it centers around the table and the beauty of nature.
This time has allowed us to shape Phase Two - helping people cultivate spiritual life by weaving practices - especially the Sabbath - that body/soul/spirit 24 - hour rest - a FULL STOP FOR REST & REST - into their daily rhythms. Over these past months, we’ve been honored to welcome 56 people into our home—gathering around our table to share meals, stories, and conversations about the beauty and importance of Sabbath.
As you know this fast-paced world we live in seems to swoop in and steal from us those needed times of rest and soul care. The hurried and anxious life is a trap - but there is an answer to break the spirit of anxiety and hurriedness - giving the body and soul the reset it needs. That answer is Sabbath - that one special day a week that restores balance and nourishes the soul. In this season, we have had 56 people around our Sabbath Table - our Friday evening meal where they experience the start of that “full stop.”
For those we can’t swoop up and gather around our table, and who want to embrace this gift of Sabbath, we’ve created resources for you (Sabbath Table handbook, Sabbath Table Guide and a few other tools) that will help you begin your Sabbath rhythm. Email us info@thesimplefarm.net for more information.
"The Sabbath is not your reward for finished work, it is your rescue from unfinished work." - Matt Canlis
Alongside this we’ve also been developing a 2–4 day retreat called The Loft—a space for rest, renewal, and deeper connection with God.
Details for THE LOFT, launching this spring, will be shared in an exclusive newsletter for Friends of the Farm.
PHASE THREE: In this season, we will be seeking property that will be cultivated into a place of beauty and spiritual renewal. On this new farm setting we will continue to expand the table ministry, begin THE LOFT retreats, return to farm dinners, beauty and wellness gatherings and a seasonal rose/herb distillation day in the gardens.

Everything we do, through the ministry of The Simple Farm (TSF) is sustained by God's grace, provision and the generosity of partners who believe in us and this mission of renewal.
