SELF-CARE IS SOUL-CARE

SELF-CARE IS SOUL-CARE

Taking time for you - just you - self-care at it's core is soul-care and it's not only OK, but it's a necessary part of daily life. If it's not part of yours, I hope it becomes one you begin to embrace if you haven't already.

Self-care (aka soul-care) has nothing to do with vanity, but everything to do with a sense of well-being and feeling at peace -  because we are being responsible to steward ourselves well.

Self-care/soul care should feel good from the inside out.

Being so intricately and holistically connected our moments for self-care effect our whole being . . . mind, body, and soul. What we eat, what we drink, how well we rest, and what we do to replenish our mind, body, and soul matters.

One thing effects the other.

I call my daily soul-care moments a "beauty pause". They can be the joy of fresh flowers, sitting by the fire on a cool night, enjoying another cup of coffee, walking through gardens, journaling, painting (I just began to "play" with paint this year), enjoying a book, experiencing a beauty pause that gives my mind and body rest.

My evening soul-care is about stepping into that space to unwind and relax as I move toward my sanctuary of sleep (8+hours).

It begins with my night-time beauty ritual - where the process is an experience of gratitude and peace. This night-time ritual is about caring for my skin - cleansing, hydrating, nourishing, feeding and protecting. There is peace and joy experienced knowing I have given my skin the best.

Warmly, Lylah
