When I heard about this gathering of Moms and Daughters studying scripture together, I was so moved and thought how rare and beautiful that is. I decided to extend an invitation to Mary Beth and Patty to bring the whole group to the farm for their final evening. We set up the grapevine arbor in the Gathering Garden for their evening meal. I added a simple bouquet of roses.
Seeing these beautiful, mothers and daughters arrive, brought such joy to my soul, knowing they were coming to celebrate the end of their study together. They brought their fresh baked sourdough bread and their bottle of wine, so they could end their time together with communion.
They saw Michael, called for him and asked him if he would lead them in communion. He talked about how significant the bread and wine are in celebrating this moment and then he prayed over them, the aaronic benediction in Hebrew.
One of the daughters put together this video collage of their evening. I watched it over and over, kept because it speaks as to the beauty of this farm, and how it’s used to serve others like this moms and daughters. These short videos say it all here and below.
