MENTORS & MOMS

In the book of Titus, older women are to "teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God."

As my children grew and spread their wings, I felt a calling to serve deeper in my community. "Yet, where Lord?" I was praying for the Lord to lead me. I love children and I have a heart that bleeds for children caught in the evil of human sex trafficking. I pray, I bring awareness and I support the non-profits that work to rescue these children and rehabilitate them.

Then, I received a call to mentor in the MOMS program at Scottsdale Bible Church. That call came 5 years ago and I have walked beside these young women since that time. I absolutely love doing life with them. I have a deep passion for serving these young mothers, leading them spiritually and emotionally in their marriages and in their parenting. This core group of young women are like daughters to me. I pray for them and love on them at every opportunity. After spending time with them, I feel I am blessed by them, as much, if not more, than they are blessed by me. The love and growth flows in both directions.  I encourage them to deepen their prayer life and be in the Word daily. Model for them how a relationship with Jesus can provide strength and comfort on a daily basis as they navigate the challenges of life.

These young mothers are seeking the wisdom of women that have gone before them. I encourage older women to reach down and serve these young wives/mothers. They need our wisdom, prayers, listening ear and support. They desire truth and they want to provide for their husbands and children as they are called in God's Word.
