WINNIE - THE BEST LIVESTOCK GUARD DOG

The Anatolian Shepherd is a breed of dog that originated in rural Turkey.  They are profoundly loyal, intelligent, intuitive, hard working avengers protecting their charges from the newest and littlest to the oldest. It's been written that this breed is more than a match for their predators. They are devoted, smart, adaptable and will protect to the end. They live to die to protect. 

Winnie has taught me so much about the beautiful symbiotic relationship of the prey and the predator. The moments of interactions I have witnessed are embedded in my soul as life lessons between me and how God interacts and guides and protects me. 

 

 

When baby goats are born, Winnie takes over. She bonds immediately with those babies by cleaning up the afterbirth, licking clean the little ones.
