WHAT'S BEEN HAPPENING AT THE FARM SINCE JANUARY 2023

creating a culture for soul renovation - reconnecting with God, people and nature on a farm setting

 2023 has been a wonderful year so far with lots of sourdough bread making (three times week) - teaching around 30 women (some with their daughters) how to make sourdough bread.

  1. Our Crowd-funded 501c3 was accepted by IRS the beginning of the year and many people saw the vision, and have chose to partner with us as a Friend of The Farm. 
  2. Completed Rooted Book 10 Week Study - 7 Rhythms
  3. Completed Experiencing God 12 Week Study - 7 Realities
  4. Garden Time Two Times Per Month Women's Conversations/Reading through Practicing The Presence of People
  5. Men's Small Group - Conversations/Reading through Practicing The Presence of People
  6. Blog Posts/Writings: These Are the Glory Days, Sabbath, The Art of Journaling & The Lord Really Delights in You
  7. Michael's Newest Worship Song - Jesus, My Good Shepherd
  8. Developing/Clarifying the Spiritual Formation Community Gatherings
  9. Michael has begun to release his music on SoundCloud
  10. Vision Casting: Michael will begin working with a choir (kids) at CYT in October. Around 30 kids or so - and then head to a recording studio. This kids choir will be singing - then recording songs Michael has written. 

Classes/Workshops Held This Year:

  1. The Art of Cheesemaking Workshop
  2. Beautiful Stories began to arrive from those giving voice to what The Simple Farm has meant to them over the years.
  3. Bee Keeping Workshop - with15 in attendance
  4. Baby Goats were born in February, March & April. We kept 2 doelings - Polly Grace and Pearl.
  5. A beautiful 9 month Farm Internship Completed With Two High School Girls - One Story here. Another Story here. 
  6. We taught 7 people (some kids) how to milk a goat. 
  7. We had 2 junior highers do farm chores as their community service project. 
  8. Family Farm Sunday to Meet the New Baby Goats & Photos with about 50 adults and children in attendance.
  1. Homeschooling Farm Mornings - this is continuing to develop
  2. Homeschool Farm Chores Morning - with about 25 moms/children in attendance. 
  3. Baby Goats Training - learning to walk - accomplished by small homeschool group. Life lessons learned in the process. 4 young girls were taught. 

This is What We're Planning (so far) for the rest of 2023

September 24th - CYT - Community Service Project - Supporting the Farm 

October 14th - Moonlight Farm Dinner with Chef Adam (a fund raiser)

October 31 - Michael, a composer/song writer, will be teaching the CYT, the heart of worship through music and songwriting.

November - Beauty and Wellness Gathering for Women - TBA

November 1, 2023 - Family Supper Night at the Farm - with Brightside Burger Food Truck (a fund raiser) 4:30 - 6:30 pm.
