Mom's worth it . . . our Signature French Inspired Farm Beauty Bar

In 2010, when we brought our first three goats home to the farm, I ventured into the art of making goat's milk soaps. I invested in good quality essential oils, two special face clay the green French clay and Moroccan Clay along with all sorts of lovely oils to create with.

I soaped away and sold my collection of soaps at our FarmShop.  Everyone loved the soaps and what they did for their skin.

I would gather all the other herbal/floral additions from our farm - like Calendula, Chamomile and Lavender and Mint to add to my soaps.

And, then, when our goat milk caramel business began to take off,  I knew I needed to shift my focus to that line of our business.  As much as I enjoyed making soaps it wasn't the best way to spend my time.

Goat's milk soap is the ONLY soap Michael and I use. Only.  We love what the goat's milk soap does and how it makes us feel.

When one of my friends began to make her beautiful soaps- it was perfect - not only did I have a source for my personal use - but I could continue to carry various specialty soaps in my FarmShop.

France has always inspired me.  My caramels were born out of a French caramel experience.  And oddly enough, I had another experience that has stayed with me - that of those lovely French soaps - like no other soaps in the world.

Thinking of the lovely French soaps, I thought how amazing they would be - recreated using goat's milk. I wanted a French-inspired beauty bar like I'd experienced in the French soap.

So, I reached out to another friend - who had been making goat's milk soap - and she listened to what I wanted.  She took all the simple details of my specifications down and went to work - hand crafting an exclusive for my FarmShop guests . . . my own signature Farm Beauty Bar made with rich, sweet goat's milk.

My Farm Beauty Bars are hand-crafted with Honey, Olive Oil, Shea butter and Coconut butter. Each one is a creamy, moisturizing and luxurious beauty bar. You can choose your florals- fresh lavender buds or fresh calendula buds.

A little on the beautiful properties of Calendula:

When looking for an herbal remedy to treat skin or wounds, think flower power -- or, more specifically, calendula. Its flowers, and occasionally its leaves, can be used to treat a variety of afflictions in different ways.

Calendula has a long history of use as a wound-healing and skin-soothing botanical. This lovely marigold-like flower (although called pot marigold, it is not a true marigold) is considered a vulnerary agent, a substance that promotes healing.  Calendula also has anti-inflammatory and weak antimicrobial activity. It is most often used topically for lacerations, abrasions, and skin infections; less commonly, it is used internally to heal inflamed and infected mucous membranes.  Found here.

A little on the beautiful properties of Charcoal and Lavender

Activated charcoal has antibacterial properties that can rejuvenate your skin. The charcoal draws out impurities and toxins from the skin. Charcoal can help relieve acne and other skin problems.

If you have been to our farm, and been able to walk through any of our gardens, you know I grow TONS of lavender - the French and the English lavender. Lavender is so therapeutic - not only does it calm the nerves, but is regarded for it's skin healing properties. Lavender is an effective antiseptic.

Why honey?

Honey is a remarkable gift from the bees. It's not only an effective antimicrobial agent but also its known to be a humectant (a compound that attracts moisture to itself and helps retain moisture) with antimicrobial qualities.

Our Farm Beauty Bars are large and dense made with pure oils and fresh flower buds. The high Olive Oil content moisturizes and it cleanses and you have two to choose from: Lavender and Charcoal or Calendula.

Currently, our Signature Farm Beauty Bar is only available in our FarmShop on Thursdays.
