Friday evening we sat around the table in the Vintage Garden and shared supper with new friends and a few old friends.
The evening couldn't have been more lovely and the supper prepared by Chef Rick and histeam from The Scottsdale Resort Kitchen West was incredible. Personally, I enjoyed he Chard/Kale (gathered from our farm) soup and was thankful to take leftovers to my kitchen.
Our Farm Supper under the stars began with our farm guests arriving and being served wine and wonderful hors d'oeuvre of our farm's Armenian cukes sliced and filled with a yummy gently spiced chopped chicken and a bite size crustini topped with the best cherry tomato (not from our farm). I greeted guests while Michael took them on a mini farm tour to see our little goat herd and new baby chicks.
As the sun went down and the stars lit up the arbor, our guests enjoyed Anna Phillippe's gentle vocals with tunes from Carole King and other singer song writers of the 60's and 70's.
The next supper is scheduled for November 18th and it is full. For future scheduled suppers with the Scottsdale Resort Kitchen West and our farm contact the resort at 480-596-7522.
Update on Farm Members Waiting List
In the past, I attempted to maintain a waiting list for all those hoping for a spot to open up on for a Farm Member. Just last Thursday 4 more people gave their names at the farm requesting to be added to the waiting list.
So, here's the update. I am no longer keeping a waiting list - in reality it's just extra book keeping that I just can't do and because I can't - it seems I end up disappointing people and even making some upset because they are on the list and they are still waiting.
IF there is an opening for a new member in the future - I will do a blog post - and generally - those that are ALREADY PRESENT on THURSDAY MORNINGS- and shopping what vegetables are harvested will be invited to become a member.
Thanks for understanding.
