The Simple Farm Announces
New Phase of Business
Farm to Close Farmer’s Market, Expand CSA
and Class Schedule
Scottsdale, Ariz. August 25, 2014—The Simple Farm, known regionally for it’s artisan goat’s milk caramels, educational classes, Thursday farmer’s market and community supported agriculture (CSA) program, will be moving to a new model of business that focuses on education and the growth of the farm.
Lylah and Michael Ledner, owners of The Simple Farm say it was time to shift to a more sustainable and economically viable model, that unfortunately means the closure of the Thursday farmer’s market. That doesn’t mean they won’t be busy, in fact not only will The Simple Farm continue to ship their award winning flavors of goat’s milk caramels to their fans locally and nation wide, they will continue and expand their burgeoning yet popular CSA program and busy class schedule.
“For a few months now,” says Lylah, “we’ve been taking time to reflect on and clarify our new, unfolding vision, which is: The Simple Farm is a private, self-sustaining farm offering inspirational workshops to the community, and providing fresh local produce exclusively for our CSA members and active Farm Members. Though it was a difficult decision, closing the Farmer’s Market and shifting all our focus into our CSA program, workshops and our caramel business was clearly the best way to fulfill our goal.”
“We are so grateful for the support of the community that brought us to where we are today, for we couldn’t do what we do without our supporters,” says Michael. “We hope now that as we shift, they will also shift with us and get on-board with our CSA’s and workshops, so that we can continue to be an inspirational farm for them and for the community.”
The fall CSA will start out with 25 share members at $28 per share**. Those interested can sign up soon at the farm’s website. The cost will be $224** for the 8 week season (October thru December). Popular add-ons from Grano de Vida breads, Crow's Dairy, Nourished, Pistol Whipped Pastry, JH Grass Fed Beef and Chicken, honey and eggs will be available for purchase upon picking up the CSA weekly share.

The farm will continue to operate flourishing classes like “The Craft of Cooking” with plans to grow this area of business in the future. The upcoming class schedule with classes on gardening, cooking, and permaculture can be found at http://thesimplefarm.net/schedule.
Prolific and educated farm members/volunteers will continue to support the vision of the farm. The Simple Farm plans to expand and provide for the future growth of their produce, goats and other livestock. Plus, private use of the farm for special events and occasions will continue to be part of the business model.
The Simple Farm will remain a private farm and residence and will no longer be open to the general public.
