Hi everyone, (special note from Joy)
We know you have been waiting for the unveiling of the new farm membership information. We want to let you know that we are ready to start team building at the farm. It is our way of getting farm members together to build new friendships. Though there are many farm chores that require physical labor, there will be other teams organized for less vigorous work. Please, let us know your limitations.
-- We are going to start with one team and build on the concept. We are currently looking for farm members who would like to work on a Tuesday, morning or afternoon.
-- We will need at least four volunteers per team; they will meet at the farm and appoint a team leader; and, agree together on the time to meet at the farm for their two hour work session. A lot can be accomplished in 2 hours when four people are working together.
-- Individuals, or couples, or a parent and a child (12 years or over) are welcome to participate on a farm team.
-- We are hoping that the team building will be a flexible tool that will allow more working members (and especially guys) to participate in the experience of farm work.
-- Your new Farm Member number will be assigned at the first meeting. This will allow you to tap into the benefits of being a Farm Member.
We really appreciate our Farm Members and want to encourage you to participate on a team once a month. Currently, If you are willing to work one Tuesday a month, please contact me, Joy Hubbard so that I can meet you with to get you started and make your assignment for your work session. We will be able to start other teams if we get a lot of responses. Other days and times will be available as the farm teams get organized, so please do not hesitate to ask for another day. We will try to get things going quickly.
