Fall Gardening? Prep Now. Dinner Update

This summer heat is a bit brutal and I am doing everything I can to keep the goats and chickens and Winnie as comfortable and as safe as possible....misters/fans....fresh water and checking on them often throughout the day.

On another note, it is the time (even in the heat) to beginning planning any kind of fall gardening. Especially, if you live in the southwest. Garden beds need weeding and the soil amended. Seed catalogs need to be ordered and there are wonderful ones out there. Any existing irrigation should be checked to make sure it's in working condition. Yes, it's so hot, but hydrate early, grab your hat and even head out to work for even just a little bit to get that garden bed prepped. You can always do a little bit at a time.

If you are in my neck of the woods, I love/use the Maricopa County Planting Guide which you can download it here.

For all of you interested in joining us for a dinner at the farm, we will be hosting just ONE dinner this fall. The date is November 2nd, we'd love you to come and experience the evening with us. Chef Derek is the BEST!  Grab your tickets here. PSST...don't wait to get your reservations.
