Happy Saturday To You and . . .
Advanced Cheese-Making workshop with Annabelle (click here). It's the advanced workshop from 3-5 pm at the farm in the library. The Basic Cheese-Making workshop covered necessary basics like understanding culture and the cheese making process as well as how to make a simple farm-style ricotta.
Tomorrow, Annabelle will teach you how to make Chevre and Cheddar. We generally encourage all workshop attendees to take our Basic Cheese-Making first - BUT - tomorrow, if you'd like to jump in and learn and then take the Basic Cheese-Making workshop in February, that will be just fine! Register here.
This cheese making workshop is part of our Simple Inspirations Track. We want to encourage you and teach you how to Grow Your Own Food, Raise Your Own Food and Prepare Your Own Food.
I am not only a confectioner (making our farmstead salted goat milk caramels) but am becoming a artisan cheese-maker. I personally LOVE making cheese and have two cheeses that have become my signature - Drunken Goat and Jillian's Day. It's called Drunken Goat ONLY because I soak this specialty cheese in either a unique French Wine or Spanish Wine. We don't sell our cheese - we're not a licensed dairy BUT I love giving little gifts of my cheese and serving it at the table where we gather around our family and friends.
So, come tomorrow and learn how to make cheese! It's fun, not difficult and you'll love the end product of serving your own cheese at your own meal table!
